Profile
About Me:
Hi! I’m originally from California, but I’ve lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I grew up in the Mesa Public school district and graduated from Mountain View High School. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education (with an emphasis in mathematics) from ASU, and later completed my master’s degree through NAU.
My Teaching Philosophy:
I truly believe in the power of kindness — you never know what someone else is going through, and a small act of kindness can go a long way. Teaching is one of the most fulfilling careers, and I’m passionate about helping shape the minds of tomorrow. I believe that you get out of education what you put into it, effort matters!
Teaching Background
- I’ve been teaching at Mesa Community College since 2010.
- Endowed Teaching Chair Award Recipient in 2018
- I am one of the Math Club Advisors at Mesa Community College
- Previously, I taught Algebra II and coached badminton at Mountain View High School.
- I also served as math department chair and teacher at Smith Junior High.
Hobbies
Outside of teaching my wonderful students, I enjoy:
- Spending time with my family (I’m a lucky mom to 2 amazing kids)
- Hanging by the pool
- Going to sporting events
- Attending trivia nights with friends
- Making shirts with my Cricut machine
- Photography, shopping, and playing co-ed softball
